OTTAWA, ON - The Lords lose to an undefeated Algonquin Wolves side in women's basketball in a trip to the nation's capital.
Durham came out flying as Telia Campbell (Pickering, ON) put the Lords on the board first and Emma Bergen (La Crete, AB) made back-to-back jump shots to put the Lords up 6-0.
Once Algonquin got on the scoreboard it was difficult to hold them back, especially in the final 2:13 where the hosts went on a 11-4 run.
The Lords had a big second quarter, outscoring the Wolves 17-12 to cut the deficit to only two points going into halftime with a 31-29 score.
In the second half it was the Wolves who looked dominant, outscoring their visitors 33-20 to run away without looking back. The Wolves ultimately won 64-49.
Bergen was again the leading scorer for the Lords, shooting 7-for-13 for a total of 22 points, seven. Rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Emily Glendinning (Plattsville, ON) came to play with 11 points, four rebounds, a trio of steals and an assist. Campbell posted seven points and five assists to go along with her pair of steals.
Off the bench, Kayla Khodra (Toronto, ON) scored six points, along wth five rebounds and an assist.
The Lords are next on the court on Tuesday, November 28 as they host the Loyalist Lancers at 6:00 PM for their final home game of the fall semester.
