PETERBOROUGH, ON - In their second match of the season, the Durham College women's soccer team hit double-digits as they defeated the Fleming Phoenix 10-0.
Jessica Ferreira (Ajax, ON) opened the scoring less than six minutes in to put the Lords ahead, before Sage Thomas-Roberts (Toronto, ON) doubled the lead.
Durham would score three more times before the halftime break, with Erika Bjorgum (Kingman, AB) getting on the scoresheet before Ferreira and Thomas-Roberts each raised their tallies to two goals.
Less than two minutes into the second half, Isabel Sullivan (Bowmanville, ON) found the back of the net to put the Lords up by six.
The Lords were firing on all cylinders as Bjorgum scored her second in the 48th minute and Sullivan made it 8-0 one minute later.
Bjorgum completed her second hat trick in as many games with a 61st minute goal. Faith Holmes (Pickering, ON) put the team into double-digit territory with her first of the season.
One week into the season, Bjorgum leads the OCAA in goals with six, while Thomas-Roberts and Sullivan sit closely behind with five and four, respectively.
Durham were dominant from beginning to end, generating 29 shots on net on 55 total attempts.
The Lords return to Vaso's Field for their home opener on Friday, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 PM.
