SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - In their first of two matches this weekend, the Durham College men's soccer team were an offensive force as they defeated the Sault Cougars 12-0.
Deandre Watkis (Ajax, ON) had a hat trick before anybody else punched their name on the score sheet, with goals in the 21st, 24th and 44th minutes to send the Lords into halftime with a 3-0 lead.
In the 55th minute, Chase Mason (Courtice, ON) made an impression in his debut as he scored to put Durham ahead 4-0. Less than one minute later, Louis-Deo Mutonkole (Oshawa, ON) scored before Jaden Grant (Oshawa, ON) and Mason made it 8-0 at the on hour mark.
Giovanni Foster (Spanish Town, Jamaica) scored his first goal of the season in the 66th minute, and 10 minutes later Kurtus Baldeo (Brooklin, ON) put Durham in double-digit territory with a goal of his own.
Christopher Badibengi (Oshawa, ON) and Teagan Marks (Whitby, ON) each added one more before the final whistle to give the Lords their largest win of the season.
Luigi-German Ribon (Whitby, ON) made his DC debut in net, securing the clean sheet.
The Lords are in Sudbury on Sunday afternoon as they continue their road trip, facing the Cambrian Golden Shield at 2:30 PM.
