DC knock off George Brown in four sets

OSHAWA, ON - The Durham College women's volleyball team will go into a multi-game road trip on a three game winning streak after defeating the George Brown Huskies 3-1 on Thursday.

Durham were first to win a set and put themselves ahead on the night, taking the first set 25-22.

The second set was the longest of the night, with several extra serves required as neither side could go ahead by two points. Finally, the Lords scored back-to-back points to take the second set 31-29.

George Brown stayed alive with their backs to the wall in the third set, taking it 26-24 before the Lords won the fourth set by the largest margin of any frame on the evening, taking it by 11 points and a 25-14 score.

Amanda Larsen (Toronto, ON), the reigning athlete of the week, tied her season-high in points with 19.0. However, she did this in four sets, as opposed to her 19.0 point performance in November that was done in five sets. On Thursday evening she recorded 13 kills on 18 total attempts, six blocked shots and four digs.

Chelsea Oke (Brooklin, ON) had herself a night with 12 kills, as well as a pair of digs.
