BELLEVILLE, ON - The Durham College women's basketball team suffer their first loss of the winter semester, falling 62-50 on the road to the Loyalist Lancers.

Durham looked as dominant in the opening quarter as they have in their other two showings this month, going up 11-2 nearing the halfway mark and ultimately leading by double-digits, a 21-11 score, after the first quarter.

Their good fortunes quickly ran low as the Lancers more than tripled their visitors' point total in the second quarter, 26-8. The Lords struggled to finish their shots in the second quarter, shooting 17.6% while running into trouble containing the Lancers, who shot 55.0% at the same time.

Coming out of halftime trailing 37-29, the Lords strengthened their defence in the third quarter - holding the Lancers to only 15 points. However, they still could not generate momentum offensively, scoring only nine.

The Lords refused to back down in the fourth quarter, holding Loyalist to a game-low 10 points in the fourth quarter. Durham outscored them, adding 12 points to the board but could not complete the comeback.

Emily Glendinning (Plattsville, ON) and Telia Campbell (Pickering, ON) played all 40 minutes in the game. Glendinning finished the night with 18 points, five steals, four rebounds, an assist and a block, while Campbell put up 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals.

Onika Leveridge (Scarborough, ON) also stood out with a double-double, recording 13 points and 12 rebounds.

The Lords return home for a Tuesday evening game against the Seneca Sting on January 30, tipping off at 6:00 PM.
