OTTAWA, ON - Playing their second game in as many days in the nation's capital, the Durham College men's volleyball team end their weekend with a win against the La Cité Coyotes in straight sets.
The first set was the most dominant bit of volleyball that the men have played all season, holding La Cité to only six points in a short set which saw Durham power to 25 points.
Set two wouldn't be nearly as lopsided, but a win is a win as the Lords took it 25-22. They again held a small lead in the third set, and a desperate Coyotes team forced extra serves but the Lords came out on top 26-24 to secure the sweep.
Jonas Felix (Woodbridge, ON) was the team leader in points, finishing the day with 10.0 in three sets played. He recorded five kills, four service aces, four digs, a pair of assists and one block.
William Egan (Cobden, ON) was not far behind with 9.0 points, leading the team with seven kills to go along with five digs and a pair of blocks.
Much of the action went through Ben Rocheleau (Stouffville, ON), who accounted for 24 of 27 assists in the game.
The Lords look to finish the regular season strong with only two games left on the schedule, beginning with a road game against the Fleming Phoenix on Wednesday, January 31 at 8:00 PM.
