OSHAWA, Ont. - The men's soccer team end their regular season campaign with a 1-0 win at Vaso's Field against the Centennial Colts.
The Lords have gone unbeaten in their last six matches, riding a wave of momentum into the playoffs.
Durham played a heavy offensive game on Saturday, outshooting Centennial 21-4 with 10 shots on target.
Deandre Watkis scored his second goal of the season in the 41st minute, giving the Lords a 1-0 lead going into halftime. That would ultimately be the lone goal in the match, giving the Lords the three points needed to secure the third place spot in the east.
The Lords set their sights on the qualifier round of the 2024 OCAA Men's Soccer Championship. As the third seed, Durham earned the right to host their match at Vaso's Field on Wednesday, October 16 at 7:00 PM when the St. Lawrence Surge come to town. The winner will advance to the quarter-finals on Saturday, October 19.
