SCARBOROUGH, Ont. - The Durham Lords faced a challenging matchup in women's basketball against the Centennial Colts on Wednesday night, ultimately falling 80-56.
Emily Balkissoon was the leading scorer for Durham, posting 19 points, including a trio of three-pointers, while adding four assists and two steals.
Letyjah Wilson anchored the Lords defensively, grabbing a game-high 15 rebounds, including 14 on the defensive end. Wilson also chipped in with 10 points and a block, securing a double-double.
Camryn Wood was another force on the boards, finishing with nine rebounds and seven points.
While the Lords were aggressive in drawing fouls, converting on free throws proved to be a hurdle as the team shot 52.9% from the line. Turnovers were another challenge, with Durham committing 21 compared to Centennial's 10.
Durham return to action in Kingston on Saturday, November 23 against the St. Lawrence Surge. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
