OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham Lords men's volleyball team hosted the Canadore Panthers in an OCAA match-up on Saturday evening at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Centre (CRWC), but despite a strong effort, they came up short, losing in straight sets (19-25, 18-25, 23-25).
The Lords' standout was Tyler Jegen, who registered 11 kills and a stellar .500 hitting percentage.
Kyle Travis also orchestrated the offence effectively with 28 assists, while contributing defensively with seven digs and three blocks.
The Lords finished the night with 39 kills, and a hitting efficiency of .341. However, costly service errors (13 compared to Canadore's five) and missed opportunities in critical moments gave Canadore the edge.
Durham will look to get back in the win column on the road at George Brown on Wednesday, November 27 at 8:00 PM.
