OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham Lords women's volleyball team delivered a dominant performance on Saturday night, sweeping the Canadore Panthers in straight sets (25-18, 25-17, 25-19). With this victory, the Lords improved their record to 7-2.
Durham's defensive unit was outstanding, tallying 61 digs and six total blocks. Chelsea Oke and Elizabeth McFarland anchored the back row with 14 and 10 digs, respectively, while Aislinn Pedersen added nine digs to keep the rallies alive.
Brooke Young orchestrated the Lords' offence with precision, dishing out 22 assists and adding three service aces.
The Lords maintained a .360 hitting percentage as a team, highlighted by an error-free first set where they hit .500. Their aggressive serving yielded 12 aces overall, led by Pedersen who contributed five.
Durham will head to Toronto on Wednesday, November 27 for a 6:00 PM match-up against the George Brown Huskies before closing out the fall semester at home on Friday, November 29 against the Georgian Grizzlies, also at 6:00 PM.
