TORONTO, Ont. - The Durham Lords women's volleyball team delivered a commanding 3-0 victory against the George Brown Huskies on Wednesday night.
With set scores of 25-21, 25-20, and 25-14, the Lords showcased their depth and efficiency to secure another important win in OCAA play.
Durham's defence played a pivotal role, recording 33 digs and four solo blocks. Defensive contributions came from across the roster, with four players contributing five or more digs.
Cohesive teamwork was evident in Durham's well-distributed attack and effective defensive coverage. Erin Black added 21 key assists, while Jessica Docherty and Elizabeth McFarland combined for four service aces to keep the Huskies off-balance with aggressive serving.
Reigning OCAA athlete of the week McFarland was a standout for the Lords, leading the team with eight kills and 10.0 points, also adding 6 digs.
Erin Black demonstrated precision with six kills on nine attempts, hitting an impressive .667. Aislinn Pedersen and Katherine Konkle each recorded four kills on the night.
The Lords finished the match with a team hitting percentage of .210, significantly outpacing George Brown's .040.
Durham return home on Friday, November 29 for a 6:00 PM match against the Georgian Grizzlies before moving into the holiday break.
