OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham Lords delivered a commanding 3-0 sweep over the Georgian Grizzlies at Oshawa, Ontario, continuing their impressive season with a ninth win.
Set scores in the match favoured Durham across the board, recording 25-17, 25-18, and 25-12 scores.
Durham displayed remarkable offensive efficiency with an impressive .309 hitting percentage, led by the stellar contributions of Aislinn Pedersen and Jessie Buck. The team excelled in serving as well, recording 19 aces, a critical factor in their victory.
Buck was the standout performer of the evening, recording a match-high 16.0 points. Her seven service aces were instrumental in keeping the Grizzlies on the back foot throughout the match.
Pedersen hit at an exceptional .667 clip with six kills on nine attempts, along with eight digs, two solo blocks and a service ace.
Katherine Konkle contributed three aces, along with three kills and two blocks. Brooke Young was instrumental in orchestrating the Lords' offence, delivering 16 assists to keep the attack running smoothly. Erin Black also chipped in with seven assists and two aces.
Defensively, Durham recorded 45 digs, with Pedersen and Chelsea Oke leading the effort in the backcourt - registering 17 digs combined.The Lords also dominated at the net with six blocks in the match.
The Lords move into the holiday break and return to the court from January 3-5, 2025 for their annual Adidas Cup competition hosted by Durham College.
