TORONTO, Ont. - The Durham Lords faced a tough loss on the road, falling 54-44 to George Brown in a hard-fought defensive battle.
Emily Balkissoon led Durham with 14 points, connecting on four three-pointers and grabbing six rebounds.
Emma Bergen contributed eight points and a game-high 14 rebounds, providing a strong presence on the boards. Bergen's defensive rebounding helped limit George Brown's second-chance opportunities.
Telia Campbell added five points, eight rebounds, four assists, and four steals, playing a key role in disrupting George Brown's offence.
However, turnovers proved costly for the Lords, as they committed 26, leading to 11 points for the home team.
Defensively, the Lords performed well, holding George Brown to 33.3% shooting and forcing 23 turnovers. Aiesha Lewis helped anchor the defensive effort with seven rebounds and two blocks.
The Lords await their qualifier opponent ahead of the 2025 OCAA Women's Basketball Championship, with the matchup taking place next weekend. Stay tuned for an opponent, date and location to be announced.
