OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College men's baseball team is excited to announce Nathan Kaczmarek as the newest addition to the Lords roster.
Kaczmarek, a 6-foot-3 pitcher who also plays at first and third base, is a hometown talent from Oshawa and has a deep understanding of the local baseball scene.
With an impressive list of accolades, including being named The Premier Baseball League of Ontario (PBLO) All-Star, Maxwell Heights Junior Athlete of the Year, and Maxwell Heights Baseball MVP, Kaczmarek has already made a name for himself in the baseball community.
He was also a member of the Maxwell Heights Secondary School team that won LOSSA and OFSAA championships in 2022, as well as the Team Ontario Astros that captured the Perfect Game Ohio Valley championship in 2023.
Kaczmarek's favourite moment in his career so far was winning the OFSAA championship as the only freshman on the varsity team. He even pitched in the Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletics (LOSSA) finals to send the squad to the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) championship.
It's safe to say that Kaczmarek brings a wealth of experience and talent to the Lords.
When it came time to make his decision, Kaczmarek was drawn to Durham for a variety of reasons.
"Durham caught my eye by having a strong baseball team, and there are many players on the roster that I have played with in the past," he said. "I also liked the coaches and the facilities at Durham and felt that they were the best fit for me."
Lords head coach Scott Cawker is thrilled to have Kaczmarek join the program.
"Nathan is a great fit for our culture. He is a local player who has had a ton of success in the region," said Cawker. "Nathan has also pitched for some of the top programs in the province. He has been a high performer everywhere he has played and is capable of filling several roles for us."
As Kaczmarek embarks on his journey at Durham College, he has his sights set on achieving great things with the Lords.
"Coming to DC is just the start for me. I plan to work as hard as possible and do anything I can to help my team win an OCAA championship," said Kaczmarek.
With his dedication and drive, Kaczmarek is ready to contribute to the success of the Lords and help them reach new heights. His journey at Durham College is only beginning, and the Lords are excited to have him on board.
Nathan will be studying in the Sport Management program when he arrives on campus in the fall.
