Parchment brings overseas experience to DC men's soccer

OSHAWA, Ont. - Durham College is pleased to welcome Jamieson Parchment to the men's soccer team as the newest addition to the Lords roster.

This 6-foot-4 centre back from Oshawa is a graduate of Eastdale Collegiate and Vocational Institute and brings an impressive soccer resume with him to the Lords.

Jamieson's experience includes playing for the Oshawa Kicks Soccer Club, DeRo TFC Academy and Oakville SC.

Parchment gained professional European first team experience in Gibraltar where he played overseas for the Lions Gibraltar FC. The club plays in the country's top flight, the Gibraltar Football League, which offers a pathway to the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round, as well as the UEFA Conference League's first qualifying round for the top teams that season.

For the incoming recruit, joining the Lords was a decision made with careful consideration and weighing the advantages that Durham College has to offer.

"There were a lot of advantages coming to Durham. I've heard lots of good things, plus I get to stay close to family and friends," Parchment shared.

His addition to the team not only brings talent and skill but also aligns with the team's culture and values. Head coach Dave Ashfield spoke highly of Parchment's potential and the positive impact he can have on the team.

Parchment is excited to be part of the Lords and is ready to make a significant impact on the field. He credits his journey and achievements to his faith and is grateful for the opportunity to play at DC.

Jamieson will be studying in the Firefighter - Pre-Serevice Education and Training program this fall.

The men's soccer team look forward to their annual Campus Cup match against Ontario Tech on September 2, and will open their OCAA regular season at home against the Algonquin wolves on September 5 at 8:15 PM.
