OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham Lords women's soccer opened their season against the Algonquin Wolves on Friday evening, falling short to the visitors by a 2-0 score.
Algonquin struck in both halves to secure the win. Alex Aubin scored the opening goal moments before halftime in the 41st minute. Late in the second half, the Wolves doubled their lead when Samantha Jones finished a setup later from Aubin.
Durham battled to get back into the match, generating chances through sustained midfield play, but were unable to solve Algonquin keeper, who recorded the clean sheet.
The Lords are back at Vaso's Field on Wednesday at 6:00 PM against the George Brown Huskies.
