OSHAWA, Ont. - Durham punched its ticket to the 2026 OCAA Women's Volleyball Championship final four with a three-sets-to-one victory over the Cambrian Shield on Saturday afternoon.
The Shield struck first, taking the opening set 25-13 and putting early pressure on the home side. Durham responded immediately in the second, tightening up defensively and finding its rhythm offensively to claim a 25-20 win.
From there, the Lords took control of the match, rolling to 25-18 and 25-23 victories in the final two sets to close out the quarter-final in four.
Elizabeth McFarland led the way offensively with 14 kills on 27 attempts, hitting .370, while adding 13 digs and five solo blocks.Â
Jessie Buck contributed nine kills, three service aces and eight digs, and Chelsea Oke added nine kills and 11 digs.Â
Tia Chang was efficient at the net, recording six kills on 12 swings for a .417 hitting percentage, while also contributing two solo blocks.
At setter, Brooke Young directed the offence with 35 assists and chipped in defensively with six digs.Â
Veronika Cavojska recorded a well-rounded performance with seven kills, 10 digs and two solo blocks.Â
Durham finished the match with 47 kills, a .215 team hitting percentage and 13 solo blocks, highlighting their balanced effort on both sides of the ball.
With the win, the Lords advance to the final four next weekend. Durham will play the winner of the St. Clair Saints vs. Canadore Panthers match tonight, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight in Windsor. Updates will come throughout the weekend with final four dates and times.
