OSHAWA, Ont. - Durham College men's baseball is welcoming a new backstop to the roster. Timothy Imeson, a talented catcher from Courtice, has officially signed with the Lords and is ready to bring his energy and experience to the diamond.
Standing at 5-foot-11, Imeson arrives with a reputation for leadership behind the plate and a proven track record of success. "The coaches here are super welcoming and helpful," Imeson said. "My club coach Tim Harkness Jr. was a massive influence that really inspired me to keep playing."
Imeson's résumé spans several respected programs across the province. He suited up for the Clarington Orioles in 2015-2016 and again in 2023, capturing team MVP honours in his return season. He went on to play for the Oshawa Legionaires in 2017 and rejoined them in 2025-2026, earning the team's batting champion title in 2025.
From 2018 to 2021, Imeson competed with the Whitby Chiefs (Canadians), where he was recognized with the Silver Slugger award in 2021. The next year, he took the field with the Toronto Mets before joining the Peterborough Tigers in 2024, helping the club secure a provincial championship.
For Imeson, one moment sits above the rest. "My favourite and most memorable part of my playing career would be winning the 16U OBA title in Peterborough with my dad," he said.
Imeson is expected to add depth and stability to the Lords' catching corps. His ability to manage a pitching staff and control the tempo of the game has coaches excited about his potential impact.
"Timothy is the kind of player you love having behind the plate. He's competitive, works hard every day and understands how to lead a pitching staff," said Head Coach Scott Cawker. "He's played at a high level, brings valuable experience to our group and has a real passion for the game. We're excited to welcome him to Durham and look forward to seeing the impact he'll have on and off the field."
As he begins his collegiate journey, Imeson is quick to acknowledge the people who helped him reach this point. "I would like to thank my parents for guiding me through my baseball career, helping financially and supporting me wherever I was," he said. "Thank you dad for all the time and effort you have put in to coaching me throughout my career, I couldn't ask for a better coach."
He also recognized Harkness Jr. and Cawker for giving him the opportunity to play for a talented Durham team.
Imeson will enroll in the Early Childhood Education program at Durham College while suiting up for the Lords. With his work ethic and passion for the game, he's ready to make his mark in the classroom and on the field.
The Lords open the 2026 OCAA season at home on September 5 against the St. Clair Saints with a 1/3:30 p.m. doubleheader.
