Lords on the diamond sweep Durham College student-athlete of the week awards
OSHAWA, Ont. – Michael Cyr and Jack Lang of the men’s baseball team and Kayla Gammie of the women’s fastball team have been named the Durham College student-athletes of the week presented by Boston Pizza North Oshawa for the period ending on Oct. 20.
Gammie, a first year Community Services and Child Studies Foundations major, was named an all-star at the OCAA women’s fastball championship hosted by Humber College. In two games, Gammie went 3-for-7 with two RBIs and one run scored.
Cyr, a third year sport management major and Lang, a first year graphic design major, were both named championship all-stars at the inaugural OCAA men’s baseball championship hosted by St. Clair College in Windsor. Both players played a big role in Durham earning the silver medal and booking a spot in next weekend’s OUA/OCAA Championship in St. Catharines.
