OSHAWA, Ont. – Emily Glendinning (Plattsville, Ont.) and Logan Stewart (Lindsay, Ont.) have been named the Durham College student-athletes of the week for the period ending September 17.
For Stewart, his contributions to the men’s baseball team winning came from a few swings of the bat. On Saturday, trailing the national champion Fanshawe Falcons in the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a two-run home run to give the Lords their third conference victory of the season. For Stewart, it was his second home run on the day as he hit a solo shot in the Lords 8-2 game one victory.
Baseball is off this week as they wait to play the Seneca Sting in North York on Wednesday, Sept. 27. First pitch of that doubleheader is slated for 6 p.m.
The Durham College athlete of the week award is presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
