Durham College Athletics

OSHAWA, Ont. – Brodie Harkness (Bowmanville, Ont.) of the baseball team and Sabrina Stalteri (Vaughan, Ont.) of the softball team have been named the Durham College student-athletes of the week for the period ending October 1.
 
Stalteri, a health and fitness student, had a hot bat last week in the Lords four wins over four games on the road. In Durham's opening game of the week she was 3-for-4 from the plate with an RBI and followed that going 2-for-3 with a walk as the Lords defeated Conestoga 6-3 and 6-2 in their first doubleheader of the week. On Thursday against Seneca, she was 1-for-4 with four RBI and a double in Durham's 11-3 victory over the Sting. Stalteri wrapped up the week going 1-for-2 with three walks, three runs and two RBI in a 13-1 victory.
 
This week softball returns home to host the Conestoga Condors on Tuesday night at Durham Field before heading to Ottawa on the weekend for the Canadian Collegiate Softball Association (CCSA) national championship. They open the tournament on Friday, Oct. 6 against the Regina Cougars at 12 p.m.
 
The Durham College athlete of the week award is presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
