Durham College Athletics

OSHAWA, Ont. – Marina Christie (Pickering, Ont.) of the women's softball team and Josh Taylor (Barrie, Ont.) of the men's golf team have been named the Durham College student-athletes of the week for the period ending October 9.
 
Taylor, a sport management student, was the top golfer for the bronze medal winning Lords at the OCAA golf championship last week. He finished 20-over for the three-day championship hosted at Crimson Ridge in Sault Ste. Marie. In his first year with Durham College he also posted the best final round, coming in with a seven-over 79. His individual performance put him fifth overall in the individual standings.
 
For the golf team, they have the week off before hosting the PING CCAA golf national championship at Royal Ashburn from Oct. 17-20.
 
The Durham College athlete of the week award is presented by Subway located at 2069 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa.
