OCAA Women's Soccer: Durham defeated Fleming 3-0
PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – After a season opening loss to St. Lawrence, the Durham College women's soccer team has managed to turn things around as they picked up their third win in a row with a 3-0 shutout over the Fleming Knights.
Brittney Sero (Newcastle, Ont.) wasted no time to score her third goal of the season as she found the back of the net ten minutes into the game. Sero scored two goals in the Lords 4-1 win over Centennial last week.
Durham would break things wide open in the second half as
Chelsey Rogatinsky (Bowmanville, Ont.) and
Vanessa Gudgin (Whitby, Ont.) scored back-to-back goals to take a commanding 3-0 lead.
Sero and Rogatinsky are the Lords leading scorers this season with three goals apiece.
Alicia Del Fuoco (Whitby, Ont.) was not too busy in net against the Knights, but managed to stop everything that came her way as she earned her second shutout of the season.
Durham is 3-1-0 this season and in a three-way tie for first place in the OCAA east region. St. Lawrence (3-0-0) and Cambrian (3-1-0) are tied with Durham at nine points apiece while Algonquin (2-0-1) and Seneca (2-1-0) are close behind with seven.
The Lords will head to Sudbury this Saturday as they take on the Golden Shield. Game time is noon.
