OCAA Women's Soccer: Durham defeated Fleming 1-0 OSHAWA, Ont. – With a 1-0 victory over the Fleming Knights on Thursday night, the Durham College women's soccer team moves into a playoff spot with one game remaining in their regular season.
The Lords (2-3-2) sit in fifth place in the OCAA east region standings, one point ahead of the George Brown Huskies (2-4-1) and three in front of the Loyalist Lancers (1-4-2). Durham will close out the regular season at home this Saturday against Cambrian (5-1-0) as they look to lock up a spot in the postseason.
Jade Kurhan (Oshawa, Ont.) scored the game's lone goal, as she notched her first of the season from the left side, taking advantage of the goalkeeper playing out of position.
Durham controlled play throughout the game outshooting Fleming 10-4.
Jessica Prytulka (Kingston, Ont.) recorded her second straight shutout and her third overall of the season.
Less than a month ago, the playoffs seemed like a dream as the Lords had dropped their third straight game and had only one point after four games.
Kick-off for the Lords' regular season finale against Cambrian is at 1 p.m.
