Tuesday night the Durham College women's volleyball team kept the momentum going as they wrapped up the first half of the OCAA season with a 3-0 victory over George Brown, their fifth straight win.
The Lords opened with a convincing 25-16 first set win, but in the second had to come from behind to earn a 25-23 win. Down 12-6, Durham didn't tie the set until the 19-19 point of the set. From there they took control and went ahead 2-0 in the match.
They won 25-19 in the third set.
Jessica Broad (Courtice, Ont.) led the team in kills, with
Maddie Rae-White (Cobourg, Ont.) adding six. The rest of the Lords offence was spread out as
Alysha Johnson (Whitby, Ont.),
Natalie Manicotto (Winnipeg, Man.),
Tess Newey (Hampton, Ont.),
Melissa Semeniuk (Pickering, Ont.) and
Emily Hacker (Cobourg, Ont.) all had three kills apiece.
Michell Lo led George Brown in kills with six, while Patricia Niengue had five.
