Durham defeats Georgian 3-0
 
OSHAWA, Ont. – Facing a team that only has one loss and is nationally ranked, the Durham College women's volleyball team weren't intimidated as they tamed the bear, defeating the No. 9 ranked Georgian Grizzlies on Wednesday night.
 
Heading into the match the Grizzlies had only lost 11 sets in 14 matches, yet the Lords swept the match 3-0 (25-21, 27-25, 28-26). Georgian's only other loss was a 3-0 defeat to Canadore on Nov. 2.
 
Jessica Broad (Courtice, Ont.) continued to lead the team's scoring with 11 kills and two service aces. She also picked up two blocks at the net.
 
Natalie Manicotto (Winnipeg, Man.) had seven kills and seven digs in the win, while Maddie Rae-White (Cobourg, Ont.) picked up seven kills and two blocks.
 
Brittany Coughlin led Georgian with 10 kills. Hannah Campbell had two service aces, seven kills and two blocks in the loss.
 
The Lords are in action again Saturday at George Brown. The first serve is 1 p.m.
