PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – The Durham College women's soccer team earned a vital three points on Tuesday night as the team hopes to grab the final playoff spot in the OCAA east division.
In Peterborough, the Lords defeated the Fleming Knights 2-0.
Sarah Balzia (Brooklin, Ont.) opened the scoring for Durham in the first 25 minutes of the match. The Lords held their 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Lords lead didn't change until the 79
th minute when
Cailey Giorgi (Oshawa, Ont.) put Durham ahead 2-0.
Jessica Prytulka (Kingston, Ont.) earned the clean sheet in the victory, her fourth of the season.
Durham's next match is Saturday at home against the first place Algonquin Thunder (9-0-0) at 1 p.m. The Lords are fourth in the OCAA east division, five points back of the Cambrian Golden Shield for third.
