Lords fall in tournament final to host Bruins

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Durham College women's volleyball team were unable to take the Wannamaker Invitational title from the host Sheridan Bruins over the weekend as the Lords fell 3-1 in the tournament final on Saturday.

After opening with a 25-17 win in the first set against the Bruins, Durham lost the second set by the same score to tie the match 1-1.

In the third it was Sheridan that won the game 25-19, taking a 2-1 lead into the fourth set. Unfortunately for the Lords, the Bruins were on point as they won the fourth and final set 25-17 to win the match and their second straight invitational title.

"It was a great weekend for us as the team prepares for the upcoming season," said women's volleyball head coach Tony Clarke. "We learned a lot and our team played well together."
