OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College women's soccer team continued to improve on Saturday at home, but were unable to top the CCAA No. 3 ranked Algonquin Thunder at Vaso's Field.
Both teams remained tied 0-0 at halftime, but early in the second half Becky Leese scored the lone goal of the match in the 51
st minute for Algonquin. The undefeated Thunder took the match 1-0.
Algonquin's Jenna King made three saves in the win, while
Jessica Prytulka (Kingston, Ont.) stopped 10 Thunder shots in the loss for the Lords.
Saturday's loss officially eliminates the Lords from the postseason as the Fleming Knights will take the final playoff spot in the OCAA east division as hosts of the 2015 championship.
The Lords wrap up their season at home on Tuesday night when the Centennial Colts come to Oshawa. Kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Vaso's Field.
