Vikings top Lords in back-to-back meetings

OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College women's soccer team was unable to beat St. Lawrence at home on Friday night as the Vikings walked away with a 2-0 victory.

St. Lawrence and Algonquin have led the OCAA east division all season, with the Vikings only loss coming at the hands of the Thunder on Wednesday night. Last weekend the Lords faced both teams and were unable to crack either squad, losing 3-0 to Algonquin and by the same 2-0 score on Sunday afternoon to St. Lawrence in Kingston.

Friday night at Vaso's Field Jennifer Hutchinson opened the scoring in the 14th minute for the Vikings, giving St. Lawrence a 1-0 lead, which they held into the halftime break.

Sarah Diamond put St. Lawrence ahead 2-0 in the 67th minute.

Jessica Prytulka (Kingston, Ont.) made 11 saves in the loss for Durham College, while Sam Turcotte made five saves in St. Lawrence's win.

The Lords (3-4-2) now have three games remaining in their OCAA season. Tuesday they are on the road to face Fleming before taking on Algonquin at home on Oct. 17 and Centennial on Oct. 20.
