Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Durham College women's volleyball team went five sets, but ended up on the losing end of the 3-2 match at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, N.Y. on Saturday.
Robersts Wesleyan opened with a strong 25-15 first set win, but the Lords bounced back with a 25-22 second set score.
In the third set Durham went ahead 2-1 after outlasting the Redhawks, 28-26.
The Redhawks tied it 2-2 with a big 25-12 fourth to force the deciding fifth set.
Durham was unable to take the match as the hometown Redhawks took the final set 15-8.
Jessica Broad (Courtice, Ont.) led the Lords with 11 kills, while
Erinn Marshall (Orillia, Ont.) and
Lucia Kalmeyer (Oshawa, Ont.) each had three blocks apiece.
In the match Durham also had 11 service aces as a team.
Allison Marshall (Orillia, Ont.), Kalmeyer,
Megan Romain (Ajax, Ont.),
Jessie Hilton (Newcastle, Ont.) and
Kristen Curtis (Frankford, Ont.) each had two.
The Lords will now face Wells College Express on Sunday afternoon in Aurora, N.Y. at 2 p.m. to wrap up their preseason trip to the U.S.
