Box Score OSHAWA, Ont. – Durham College women's volleyball team kept their win streak alive on Thursday night thanks to a balanced offence.
The Lords defeated the Trent Excalibur 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 25-13, 25-21) en route to their ninth straight conference win and fourth straight of 2016.
Jessica Broad (Courtice, Ont.) led Durham with eight kills, while
Allison Marshall (Orillia, Ont.),
Stephanie Larose (Whitby, Ont.) and
Kristen Curtis (Frankford, Ont.) all added seven apiece.
Lucia Kalmeyer (Oshawa, Ont.) was also in the mix with six kills.
At the net it was the team leader in blocks doing her thing as Curtis earned five in the match, brining her total to 45 on the year (0.98 B/S). Broad added five service aces to continue to lead the Lords with 26 in 14 matches.
Trent University, in their final OCAA conference match at the CRWC before moving to the OUA next year, looked to Sarah MacLaren and Jessica McDougall to lead their offence.
MacLaren had 11 kills with three blocks, while McDougall picked up 10 kills in the loss. From the service line Carley Gougeon seemed to have the Lords number as she picked up four aces.
Durham will now have the week off before travelling to Ottawa to take on the Algonquin Thunder on Friday and the La Cité Coyotes on Saturday.
