BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Durham College baseball team had their win-streak snapped in the back half of their doubleheader against Erie Community College in Buffalo, N.Y. on Wednesday.
The Lords beat Erie 6-3 in the opening game to extend their overall win-streak to nine games, but fell 8-3 in game two.
Alec Brown (Bowmanville, Ont.) continued is strong play to start the season as he pitched another complete game in the Lords 6-3 victory. Brown allowed just one earned run on five hits and two walks while striking out three.
The Lords took advantage of four Erie errors as they went on to score six runs off five hits.
Jake Legros (Whitby, Ont.) and
Kadeev Bembridge (Whitby, Ont.) each had two hits apiece while
Jordan D'Amico had the other.
In game two, Erie put up six runs in the third inning and cruised to the five-run victory.
Starting pitcher
Cole Casford (Kingston, Ont.) allowed six runs in the third inning, three of which were earned.
Travis Doyle (Grimsby, Ont.) pitched three innings in relief and allowed one earned run off of three hits.
Brandon Dadson (Bowmanville, Ont.) led the Durham offence with one hit and two runs scored, while catcher
Jack Lang (Pickering, Ont.) had a hit and two RBIs.
The Lords perfect conference record (4-0) will be on the line this weekend when they take on St. Clair (Saturday) and Fanshawe (Sunday) on the road.
