OSHAWA, Ont. – Coming off two hard fought games in a split against Humber, the Durham College baseball team cruised to a pair of exhibition victories over the Lambton Lions by scores of 21-0 and 11-1.
This was Lambton's first taste of baseball in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) as their visit to Oshawa was their inaugural road trip.
Brodie Harkness (Bowmanville, Ont.) earned the victory in game one allowing two Lambton hits over two innings of work.
Durham recorded 17 hits including three apiece by
Jared Fenlong (Athens, Ont.) and
Brendon Dadson (Bowmanville, Ont.).
Jack Lang (Pickering, Ont.) had two hits and four RBIs while
Eric Beharri (Burlington, Ont.) had two hits, three RBIs and three runs scored.
Game two was a lot closer as Durham held a 4-1 lead heading into the fourth inning. The Lords would break things open in the bottom half of the inning as they scored seven runs.
Jake Legros (Whitby, Ont.) pitched five innings allowing one earned run in the win.
Fenlong was perfect at the plate once again going 3-for-3 while
Jordan D'Amico (Courtice, Ont.) was 2-for-2. Daniel MaGuire was 1-for-1 with two walks.
Durham will resume conference action on Wednesday when they head to Toronto to take on the George Brown Huskies. The Lords are 5-3 and sit one game back of the Fanshawe Falcons.
