OSHAWA, Ont. – The semifinals are set for the Canadian Colleges Baseball Championship as round robin play concluded with Durham College beating Holland College 9-4 on Friday night.
 
Mirroring the 2016 championship, Durham will take on the defending national champion Fanshawe Falcons at 10 a.m. at Kinsmen Civic Memorial Stadium. In the other semifinal at Ritson Field, the five-time defending OCAA champion St. Clair Saints will match up against the Holland Hurricanes.
 
Durham finished round robin play with a 3-0 record after wins over Seneca (12-2), St. Clair (3-0) and Holland (9-4). In the Lords 3-0 shutout over the Saints, Brodie Harkness (Bowmanville, Ont.) pitched a complete game shutout allowing just five hits and two walks.
 
In the Lords' 9-4 win over Holland, Connor May (Oshawa, Ont.) went 2-for-2 with a pair of walks, as he was able to cross the plate four times. Eric Beharri (Burlington, Ont.) earned the win, shutting down the Hurricanes' offence in 4.2 innings of relief.
 
Fanshawe and Humber in pool B and Seneca and Holland in pool A would finish round robin matching records, but the Falcons and Hurricanes would advance after tie-breaking procedures were put in place.
