ANCASTER, Ont. – The Durham College men's soccer team sits in a tie for third after the opening day of pool play at the OCAA indoor soccer championship.
The Lords opened with a 2-2 tie against the Redeemer Royals, which they followed by drawing the Conestoga Condors 1-1.
To start the day both Lords goals came off the foot of
Alex Needs (Costa Rica).
Colin Reilly (Whitby, Ont.) picked up the lone goal in the draw against the Condors.
On Friday, they need to finish top two in their pool to advance to the final day on Saturday. Currently University of Toronto Mississauga (1-0-1) leads with four points, while the George Brown Huskies (1-1-0) are in second with three points. Durham is in a tie with Conestoga at two points apiece.
Their first game on day two is 9:50 a.m. against the George Brown Huskies, followed by their match against UTM at 11:30 a.m.
On the women's side, the Durham College Lords fell 2-0 in each of their matches to the George Brown Huskies and Humber Hawks.
They will face the Seneca Sting (2-0-0) at 2:50 p.m. and St. Clair Saints (0-1-1) at 4:30 p.m. to wrap up pool play on Friday.
