NORTH PLATTE, Nebraska – Continuing preseason action on Friday, the Durham College women's volleyball team earned their first victory of the season.
During their trip south of the border the Lords are 1-3 thus far.
After opening Friday with a 3-1 loss to the Eastern Wyoming Lancers, the Lords defeated the McCook Indians in straight sets to cap off the day.
"Moving forward and in a positive direction is the main goal of this trip and that is what we continue to do," said head coach
Tony Clarke. "We have two more matches tomorrow, which we want to continue to improve in and then head home and prepare for the OCAA season to begin."
Durham closes out their Nebraska trip on Saturday, completing a second doubleheader against two more historic NJCAA schools. The Lords will be challenged by a rebuilding Garden City Broncbusters team that finished the 2018-19 season without a single win, before coming up against the host North Platte Knights, who finished middle of the pack last season with a 17-21 record.
Following their return to Canada the Lords will turn their focus to preparing for their opening match of the OCAA season Saturday, Oct. 19 in Ottawa against the Algonquin Thunder.
Overall Record: 1-3
Conference Record: 0-0
Next match: Saturday, Aug. 24 @ Garden City Broncbusters (11 a.m. EST)
