NORTH PLATTE, Nebraska – After a slow start to the week the Durham College women's volleyball team rattled off a pair of wins on Saturday morning.
Against the Garden City Broncbusters to open the day, the Lords had a roller coaster of a match as they lost the first set before taking the second and third. They struggled in the fourth, but dominated the Broncbusters to win 15-6 in the fifth set.
To wrap up their preseason trip they faced the North Platte Knights. In front of the hometown crowd the Lords earned a convincing 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 25-16, 25-21) victory.
"Today was a positive day for our program and it was a positive atmosphere to be a part of," said head coach
Tony Clarke. "We can't say enough about the hospitality here and the experience our players had in Nebraska for the first time. We grew as a team and wish the best of luck to each of these teams in their conference play this year."
Durham will now turn attention to their official training camp from September 9-12. They follow that with matches against the St. Clair Saints in late September on Friday, Sept. 20 and Saturday, Sept. 21.
Overall Record: 3-3
Conference Record: 0-0
Next match: Friday, Sept. 20 vs. St. Clair Saints (6 p.m. – CRWC)
