Women's soccer finishes American road trip in Pennsylvania

EDINBORO, Pennsylvania - The Durham College women's soccer team ended their two game American road trip with a 3-1 loss to the Edinboro Fighting Scots on Sunday afternoon in Pennsylvania.

Competing in three 30 minute periods, DC were strong out of the gates, holding a 1-0 lead after the first frame. It took just four minutes of action for the Lords to get on the scoreboard, while their defence proved to be much better than the previous day.

As both coaches made adjustments, the Fighting Scots scored two goals in the first six minutes of the second 30 minute period. They would round out the scoring with a last minute marker just before the 90 minute end line.

"I was really happy with how we played our first 30 minutes," said Lords head coach Alex Bianchi. "Overall the game was much better than yesterday and I am happy with how the entirety of the weekend has gone. Having the chance to play two Division II American teams is a huge benefit for us, allowing our players and our coaches to learn a lot"

Durham returns to Oshawa this week where they will continue preseason action against the UTM Eagles on Thursday, Aug. 29 at Vaso's Field. The women will kick off at 6 p.m., following the men at 3:30 p.m. DC will then look to reclaim the Campus Cup in the annual rivlary match with campus partner Ontario Tech next Tuesday, Sept. 3.
  Overall Record: 0-3-0 (W-L-D)
Conference Record: 0-0-0

Next match: Thursday, Aug. 29 vs. UTM Eagles (6 p.m. - Vaso's Field)
