OSHAWA, Ont. - Picking up their fourth win of the preseason, the Durham College women's volleyball team defeated the visiting St. Clair Saints in four sets at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre on Friday evening. Set scores for the exhibition match were 25-22, 20-25, 25-22, 25-19.
The Durham attack was led by a pair of strong returning outside hitters in 2018-19 OCAA championship all-star
Allyson Terwillegar (Enniskillen, Ont.) and 2018-19 OCAA east first team all-star
Althea Boncheff (Alliston, Ont.). Terwillegar finished the four set match with nine kills, two service aces, and a block for a team-high 12 points, while Boncheff added eight kills, two aces, and a block for 11 points.
Leading the offence was second-year setter
Georgi Williams (Whitby, Ont.) who notched 33 assists in three sets of work, while third-year libero
Devyn Fraser registered a team-high 11 digs defensively.
DC are back at it tomorrow afternoon in another matchup with the Saints at the CRWC. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
