OSHAWA, Ont. - In another good preseason match with the St. Clair Saints, the Durham Lords women's volleyball team picked up another four set win. Set scores for the exhibition match were 25-18, 19-25, 25-23, 25-21.
Much like the day prior the Lords were led by a pair of outside hitters as
Althea Boncheff (Alliston, Ont.) and
Allyson Terwillegar (Enniskillen, Ont.) partnered up again. Boncheff recorded 10 points from six kills and four service aces, while Terwillegar scored a team-high 11 points from five kills, two aces, and four blocks.
Georgi Williams (Whitby, Ont.) was the primary setter for the Lords again with 21 assists, adding six digs defensively. Meanwhile, fourth-year veteran
Jessica Joensen (Newcastle, Ont.) led the defence with nine digs, chipping in five kills and an ace as well.
The Lords will next head to the Montreal Cup on Sept. 28-29. They will open the tournament against the Andre-Laurendeau Boomerang.
