Box Score WINDSOR, Ont. - Behind the strength of a complete game shutout pitching performance from
Jason Crouse (Oshawa, Ont.), the Durham College men's baseball team remain undefeated on the road this season, dropping the St. Clair Saints 5-0 in Windsor on Sunday afternoon.
The start of the contest was moved up an hour to avoid a poor weather forecast, but the change had no effect on the Lords winning ways. Crouse earned his third win of the season and second shutout effort, now ranking tied for first in the OCAA in both those categories.
The road win over the second place Saints also helps the Lords close the gap in the standings. With a record of 6-6, Durham now trails the Saints and Seneca Sting who both sit in second with 7-4 records, while pushing DC ahead of Fanshawe who hold a 5-7 mark. Only the top four teams qualify for the OCAA championship, hosted this fall by Durham College from Oct. 18-19 at Kinsmen Stadium.
The Lords will have a chance to close the gap even further when they challenge the Sting this Wednesday, Oct. 2. DC's schedule will see some changes coming though as they will also need to complete a suspended game from earlier this week with the George Brown Huskies, and will need to make up a postponed doubleheader from this weekend versus the Lambton Lions.
