OSHAWA, Ont. - Hosting teams from Ontario, Quebec, and Manitoba, the Durham College women's volleyball team earned two wins on the first day of the annual Adidas Cup tournament at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
DC opened the day with a straight sets victory over the Cambrian Golden Shield. Set scores for the match were 25-14, 25-16, 25-17. The Lords then followed that up with a 3-1 victory over OUA competitor Trent Excalibur. Set scores for the second match of the day were 25-20, 23-25, 25-19, 25-16.
Fourth-year veteran outside hitter
Jessica Joensen (Newcastle, Ont.) and second-year middle
Pasha Ormerod (Terrace, B.C.) were standouts on the day, with the Lords utilizing the entirety of their roster in the exhibition tournament.
The Adidas Cup will continue tomorrow with the first games of the day scheduled for 10 a.m. Â
