DC off to Adidas Cup final

OSHAWA, Ont. - The No. 6 nationally ranked Durham College women's volleyball team qualified for the Adidas Cup final after maintaining their undefeated record for the weekend following two Saturday afternoon wins at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.

Hosting teams from Ontario, Quebec, and Manitoba at the annual exhibition tournament, the host Lords picked up a straight sets victory over the RMC Paladins to open Day 2. Set scores for the match were 25-9, 25-17, 25-21. The win propelled Durham into the tournament semifinal where they knocked off the Canadore Panthers in straight sets as well, with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-14.

The Lords last captured the Adidas Cup championship in 2017, defeating the Loyalist Lancers 2-0 in the tournament final. They will look to make it two titles in four years when they face-off against the Cambrian Golden Shield, who they defeated in their opening match of the 2020 tournament, in the championship match on Sunday afternoon. First serve for the final is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at the CRWC.
