Box Score OSHAWA, ON – The Lords continue their unbeaten streak through Saturday afternoon, defeating the visiting Cambrian Golden Shield 3-1 at Vaso's Field.
Erika Bjorgum (Kingman, AB) opened the scoring in the 14
th minute on her second shot of the game. The Lords managed six more shots in the first half, two on target, but were unable to beat the goalkeeper again before the halftime break and took a 1-0 lead through 45 minutes.
Cambrian tied up the game in the 61
st minute, but
Sage Thomas-Roberts (Toronto, ON) took the lead back on a pass from newcomer
Jaime Pye (Oshawa, ON) to find the back of the net.
Thomas-Roberts scored again less than five minutes later to extend the lead to two goals and that would be the last time a goalkeeper was beat in the match, giving the Lords a 3-1 victory.
Nikki Bradshaw (Newtonville, ON) was contested with six shots on target in the match, turning away five.
The Lords are back at Vaso's Field on Sunday afternoon as the Sault Cougars come to town. Kick-off is set for 1:00 PM.
