Durham earn a point in home opener

Box Score OSHAWA, ON – The Durham Lords opened their 2022 OCAA regular season with a draw at Vaso's Field on Friday evening.
 
Facing off with the Centennial Colts at Vaso's Field, soon to be the home site of the 2022 OCAA Women's Soccer Championship, the Lords got their first taste of in-season play following a 2-1 pre-season campaign.
 
The contest was an easy one for the official, with no player on either side scoring, being cautioned with a yellow card or being shown red.
 
Durham pressured Centennial heavily throughout the match, recording 11 of 20 shots on target. The Colts took a total of 11 shots throughout the evening, forcing Nikki Bradshaw (Newtonville, ON) to stop seven of them. Both sides had a nearly even opportunity from the corner, as the Lords were awarded five corner kicks to Centennial's four.
 
The Lords will hit the road this weekend as they roll into Toronto to meet the George Brown Huskies on Sunday for their second match day. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
 
Durham will be back home to host the Cambrian Golden Shield on Saturday, September 17 at 1:00 PM.
