COLIN DEMPSTER

Colin Dempster joined the coaching staff for the Durham College baseball team in 1999. Colin saw over 300 college wins at Durham as an assistant coach. During his career, he helped lead the Lords to two National Championships.

Between 2005 and 2019, the Lords had never finished lower than fifth at the CIBA Nationals, or in OCAA competition. After joining OCAA men’s baseball in 2013, Dempster led the Lords to the final four in all seven years and won three silver medals.
Competing in the national championship in 2019 before retiring, the Lords defeated Lionel-Groulx, John Abbott and Humber en route to the gold medal game, where Durham defeated Thompson Rivers 2-1 to win the National College Baseball Championship, which Colin was a key member of the coaching staff.
Dempster balanced his duties at the ballpark with working at the Oshawa campus as a facility attendant for the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre (CRWC).

Over 22 years, Dempster helped coach the Lords to a 342-232-1 record.
