Mario Bruno
Inducted November 26, 2008

Mario Bruno was born in Oshawa in 1964 and came to Durham College in the fall of 1984 to pursue his college education and also compete in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA). The Central Collegiate High school graduate quickly established himself in the OCAA Men's Soccer circle as one of the most talented offensive players in the province. He led the vaunted Durham College Men's Soccer program in scoring all three years he competed, finishing with an all-time DC career school record of 32 goals, which still ranks 5th all-time in OCAA Men's Soccer history. His hi-lite season for scoring was 1986-87 where he led the team and the entire OCAA in scoring with 17 goals - still the current DC all-time single season record. That same season he was named an OCAA Provincial League All-star. His scoring talent helped lead a strong DC soccer program to three consecutive OCAA East Division Championship titles from 1984 to 1987, and three consecutive OCAA Provincial Championship medals. (Silver medal in 1984-85, and Bronze Medal in both 1985-86 and 1986-87) During that 3 year span the Lords recorded just one loss in regular season conference play going 24-1-1.

A true soccer scoring legend at Durham College and very deserving of Hall of Fame status.
