Mike Timpano
Inducted December 6, 2007

Michael Timpano was born in Orillia in 1958 and came to Durham in 1980 to study the popular Sports Administration program.  Mike also began an amazing collegiate career at Durham College at that same time as a member of not one, but three DC Varsity teams (Basketball, Volleyball, and Badminton).  Before graduating from DC in 1982 he was the top scorer on the Men’s Basketball team each year and was named OCAA Eastern Ontario MVP his freshman season.  In addition he was named the 1980-81 MVP at the OCAA Eastern Ontario Championships.  Mike also excelled at Badminton where he captured the OCAA Gold Medal in Men’s Badminton in 1980-81 teamed with his brother Paul.  He also captured a Bronze Medal at the same Ontario Championships.  He was also a member of the Student Athletic Association and was actively involved in supporting the growth and improvement of athletics at Durham College. He capped off his terrific collegiate career in equally fine fashion with All-Star status in both Basketball and Volleyball while being named DC Male Athlete of the Year.  A three sport student athlete that is very deserving of Hall of Fame status.
